Enquiries for the last quarter of this year, 2021 and 2022 are being welcomed at the Club. People are still planning. Interest is for a mix of events such as conferences, filming and celebratory occasions. The Caledonian Club has always been of interest for corporate and personal anniversaries for members and non-members alike.
The Club is operating with a skeleton team currently working from home and are optimistic of seeing the variety of events back at the Club in due course. Nothing quite beats the experience of catching up in person for a social, business or celebratory event and the Club are eager to welcome back new and regular guests alike. The family feel, and delicious food is often the most commented aspects of the Club that bring repeat business over the years’ time and time again.

Situated near Hyde Park Corner and a short walk from Victoria station, Halkin Street is currently quieter than usual without the taxi’s dropping guests off for celebratory dinners or the piper bellowing out the signature tones of ‘A Man’s A Man For A’ That’ outside the Club to welcome approaching guests. No need for signage at the Club as you soon know you are in the right place once you hear the pipes.
I’m sure the haggis are having great fun at the moment though, roaming free on the highlands and perhaps the braver ones exploring the local villages. That is until the time comes for the Club to once again fly them down daily from Dingwall (otherwise known as Dingwall Champion Haggis) due to the demand of the members as well as the ‘addressing the haggis’ required at many events. It is here the Club demonstrates its Scottish routes at is best thus celebrating the life, love and poetry of Robert Burns (1759-1796), the national poet of Scotland and making the Club truly special. It is quite an emotional and exciting moment experiencing your first ‘addressing of the haggis’ as you watch in wonderment and slight surprise at the events unfolding in front of you. Be prepared to be a little confused too if you do not understand Scots dialect, although this is not necessarily a bad thing when the first line ‘Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face’ which means ‘good luck to you and your honest, plump face’. Try not to take it personally.
